Judge C. Gus Kwidis
Appointed to the bench by former Governor Tom Ridge to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of the late Hon. Joseph S. Walko, Judge C. Gus Kwidis was elected to the Court of Common Pleas in November, 2001 toa 10 year term.
 
A graduate of Ambridge High School and West Virginia University, Judge Kwidis received his law degree from the University of Toledo in 1969. From 1969 – 1971, he clerked for the late Hon. James E. Rowley.
 
After completing his clerkship, Judge Kwidis worked as an Assistant Public Defender for a year before joining the District Attorney’s office in 1972. From 1972 – 1976, Judge Kwidis was also an associate in the law firm of Wallover, Reed & Steff.
 
He established his own practice in 1976 and for the next 25 years primarily engaged in the defense of civil liability claims. Judge Kwidis also served as solicitor for a number of local municipalities, as well as for McGuire Memorial Home. He is also a past president of the Beaver County Bar Association.
